Ballroom dancing requires a specific kind of athletic development. A great way to start is with Ballroom Strength Workshops. In the workshops Paul, Founder of Ballroom Strength, guides participants through a series of exercises, specifically to enhance their Ballroom dancing. There are two kinds of workshops on offer, as detailed below.

Here's what the studios say

We’ve been running a series of Ballroom Strength workshops at OMDS for our competitors and they’re great! The combination of appropriate strength and stamina training is really helping our dancers.

We were really happy to host a Ballroom Strength workshop at Step By Me Studios. Our aim is to provide a complete Ballroom service to our dancers, and that includes appropriate athletic training. The workshop went really well and our dancers liked it a lot. We highly recommend these workshops!

Competitor Workshops

This workshop is designed for Ballroom competitors. Participants should already have a good range of athletic abilities, including running, jumping, and deep squats.
This workshop includes...

  • A thorough warm-up routine, which participants can use before lessons, practice and competition

  • Strength exercises to develop control and stability from the feet to the head

  • A stamina routine, specifically developed for the demands of Ballroom competition

Social Dancer Workshops

This workshop is designed for social Ballroom dancers. Participants do not require prior athletic training, and can be beginners in Ballroom.
This workshop includes...

  • A gentle warm-up routine, to activate the mind-body connection and to gently raise the heart rate

  • Strength exercises to develop control and stability from the feet to the head

  • A focus on fundamental attributes, such as alignment, range of motion, and engagement
